Become a Kiwanis Member

Have you been looking to do some volunteering for good causes in your community? Do you like helping kids, having fun and feeling like you made a difference? Why not consider joining us and become a member of our Kiwanis club?

How much does it cost?

Dues are $125 per year (October through September). In addition to covering the operating expenses of Kiwanis International and the New England and Bermuda District of Kiwanis, dues help fund the service that Kiwanis does in Weymouth, including the A Simple Gesture, our Bicycle Safety Day, safety kits for new parents, and more!

What is expected of a member?

Our club has a greater focus on service and a lesser focus on meetings than many traditional service clubs. People today are busy with long commutes, busy jobs, and obligations for their kids, grandkids, pets, and other family members. We don’t expect every member to attend every meeting, social event, and service project.

In a typical month, our Kiwanis Club will hold one evening business meeting, where we will host a speaker and/or plan an upcoming service program. These meetings will take place at the Tufts Library and have an option to participate virtually.

In addition, we will hold a social event each month. Some of these will be social hours at a local bar, while others will be family-oriented events.

Finally, we will strive to have at least on service project each month. Members will make up committees that plan these projects, and also volunteer at them. Many of these projects will be family friendly, as well.

While you may not be able to attend everything, we hope you will be able to make some meetings and social events and get involved with planning and executing service projects that are meaningful to you!
